Backend Telecom Infrastructure support
CLIENT PROBLEM / CHALLENGE
Orange that is the key brand of France Telecom, one fo the world's leading telecommunications operators, launched data and mobile telecommunications in Uganda in 2006 and 2009 respectively. In order to effectively compete with the incumbent telecom companies Orange needed to establish a reliable network in the most effiecient and effective manner, especially optimizing its backend telecommunications infrastructure so as to hit the ground running in terms of both data and mobile network service delivery and optimality of its operations.
CLIENT NEEDS AND EXPECTATIONS
Orange contracted Comtel to deliver the following, with regard to its backend telecommunications infrastructure:
Design, set-up, test and deploy a Data Centre.
Deploy a Power backup solution.
Implement MIcrosoft Exchange.
Deploy the Cisco Unified Communications Platform.
Comtel has successfully delivered this project on a continuous basis including the provision of annual support from 2006 to date.

Orange established and has maintained the reputation of being the most reliable data services provider in Uganda.
Orange is recognised, by its peers in the market, as having the best equipped and supported Data Centre in the country.
Orange now stands out as the only Telecom Company in Uganda to have successfully implemented the CIsco Unified Communication Platform.
Because of efficiencies gained from its backend, Orange is able to offer competitive prices to its customers.
